a motif
It all started when…
We purchased a Usonian home built by Robert and June Kueny. Robert was a student of Frank Lloyd Wright in the ’50s. This home was his student project while at Taliesin.
The prevailing motif is a row of telescoping concentric rectangles on the upper level. Originally the house had a gate that was mounted to the tall stump but had rotten away and the steel gat has been laying in the grass for years.
We needed a gate to keep in the dogs in so I went to work and came at the project with 2 different approaches 1 reuse 2 new. The new one made more sense for the size of the opening and modifying the old gate became cost prohibited .
Troy Kick is an amazing fabricator made the design real.
