Occupational

Opportunities

It’s a designers job to analyze the market segment you are designing for and idenify opportunities for you customer. The occupational space is evolving and Walmart wasn’t addressing the shift in footwear as well as they could. I create this a simple deck that illustrated their current footwear brands consumer and what Hyper Tough could offer to a footwear consumer already shopping for more progressive products under the Hyper Tough brand.

Industrial Outdoor - work-site to camp-site

Outdoor is a life style and it crosses over with the work segment quit a bit. This user wants more protection but still keep it in the outdoor. There are to sub set of this group more tradition amateur and color and those that embrace athletes color and tech.

Warehouse - working in the stacks

A growing segment is the warehouse worker. Long hours stand and/or walking on concrete. They don’t want the construction site or outdoor look but lean more towards casual and athletic. Tread patterns and uppers are built for time in the stacks. There is a value consumer here too. It maybe their first job or seasonally employment they are looking for value in this purchase.

Maximal - Not my Dads work boot

The trend pendulum has swung away from super low to thicker sidewalls. This is perfect for occupational footwear, it looks more comfortable, adds an extra layer of protection while updating any profile to be younger and more on trend.

Traditional - keep it fresh

Traditional “evergreen” products should always be kept fresh whether it’s trend right, seasonal or a co-lab it helps the original.

Farm and Ranch - protection in the elements

Wellies, Muck, or Barn boots, whatever you call them. When mother natures strikes having the right protection on your feet rain or shine cn may or break you day. Tall vulcanized rubber shaft, multi-directional tread and neoprene lined can’t be beat.
